Psalm 36:9(8) They drink their fill from the abundance of Your House. You give them drink from the river of Your delights. 10(9) For with You is the fountain of life—in Your light we see light.
Here are the same verses we read yesterday, but this time our focus is on the last phrase, “…in Your light we see light.” On the surface, this seems to be a small after-thought appended to lots of water allusions. But it is much more than that. Any farmer will tell you what is needed for growth is water, light and nutrients. Here in our verses, we have water and light. The nutrients will come in the next verse through God’s grace and righteousness.
John 8:12 Yeshua spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows Me will no longer walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Sound like circular logic, doesn’t it, “In your light, we see light.” Yet, Yeshua’s mission is to open blind eyes. Isaiah 42:6 “I, Adonai, called You in righteousness, I will take hold of Your hand, I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations, 7a by opening blind eyes,….
Only in Yeshua’s presence can we identify (through sight) what is real from what is false. 1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1Corinthians 2:14 Now a natural man does not accept the things of the Ruach Elohim, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
So, how will it be with you? Will you stumble about in darkness or walk in the light only available to those in Yeshua’s presence? Psalm 89:16(15) Blessed are the people who know the joyful shout (Teruah), They walk in the light of Your presence, Adonai. And speaking of “Teruah,” today is Yom Teruah (I’m writing this on Tuesday), the Feast of Trumpets. If you have not already done so, please watch the video link above. Shalom shalom.
