RR Psalm 34:6 Part 5

(Early) Shabbat Shalom,

Psalm 34:6 They who looked to Him were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.
There are two things happening here in this verse.  They are two sides of the same coin.  First, those who look to Yeshua will become radiantly bright, just like Him.  Many Scriptures have come to mind as proof-texts.  Here are four of my favorites.

2Corinthians 4:6  For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Messiah.

Matthew 13:43  Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear!

Song 6:10  Who is this that appears like dawn? As beautiful as the moon, bright as the sun, awesome as an army with banners.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for your light has come! The glory of Adonai has risen on you. 2 For behold, darkness covers the earth, and deep darkness the peoples. But Adonai will arise upon you, and His glory will appear over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, kings to the brilliance of your rising.

This brilliance (reflecting His glory) results in His people “not being ashamed.”  It is one thing to know what we’re not, but on the positive side, what are we?  In Hebrew, we are “Al-Yech’par’u,” from “Chapher” meaning (not) “ashamed, disgraced, confounded or embarrassed.”  These are all symptoms of confusion and humiliation.  The opposite for God’s people is clarity of mind.

2Timothy 2:15 Make every effort to present yourself before God as tried and true, as an unashamed worker cutting a straight path with the word of truth.

There are some great promises yet to be fulfilled for those who put their faith and trust in Yeshua.  1John 3:2 Loved ones, now we are God’s children; and it has not yet been revealed what we will be. But we do know that when it’s revealed, we shall be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

And finally, Revelation 22:16 I, Yeshua,… I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”  Shalom shalom.
