Psalm 31:9(8) – Part 9
Psalm 31:9 You did not hand me over to the enemy. You set my feet in a wide-open place.
Well then, in whose hands are ya? If we’re not “handed over” to the enemy, then we must still be in the hands of the one true and living God. Picture a baby being carried in the arms of her father. The baby is asleep without a thought that dear old dad would intentionally let go and drop the baby. Babies don’t worry about loved ones hurting them. Did Yeshua have this in mind when He proclaimed…
Matthew18:3 and said, “Amen, I tell you, unless you turn and become like children, you shall never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Who loves us more than God? Moses admonished all the children of Israel before they entered the promised land. Deuteronomy 31:6 “Chazak! Be courageous! Do not be afraid or tremble before them. For Adonai your God—He is the One who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.” And it happened just as Moses prophesied… Deuteronomy 31:3 “Adonai your God—He will cross over before you. He will destroy these nations from before you, and you will dispossess them. Joshua will cross over before you, just as Adonai has promised.” Yeshua is the greater Joshua.
Everything changed with Yeshua’s once-for-all-time sacrifice, and nothing will ever be the same. Yeshua gave up this life, only to take up eternal life, after uttering these words. (Quoting our subject verse from a few days ago - Psalm 31:5) Luke 23:46 And Yeshua, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I entrust My spirit.” When He had said this, He breathed His last. Here, four verses later, in our subject verse today, David completes that thought… Psalm 31:9a You did not hand me over to the enemy. This is our shared destiny… to be eternally with the Lord and not the enemy. Shalom shalom.
