Psalm 29:9 – Part 9
Psalm 29:9 The voice of Adonai makes the deer writhe in birth and strips forests bare, and in His Temple all are saying, “Glory!”
These RR devotionals are the product of my devotional life with the Lord, I’m glad to share them with you. My dear wife, Jan, helps me every day by being the first person to listen to me read what I have written. In her critique, she is always asking me, “Where did you start, and where did you end up?” The same could be asked of King David.
He started Psalm 29 in verse 1… “ascribe to Adonai glory and strength.” Now see what David says at the end of the Psalm in verses 9 and 11. “…and in His Temple all are saying, ‘Glory!’” “… Adonai gives strength to His people.” There it is… glory and strength are prophesied as God’s attributes in the beginning of the Psalm and given as a reality to the people who are like Him at the end of the Psalm. Yes, glory and strength are brought full circle from the beginning to the end.
The verse ends with the phrase, “Everyone speaks, ‘glory.’” We are currently nearing the end of the counting of the Omer in which we take 49 days from the first Sunday of Pesach until Shavuot to be thankful and recount our blessings. Every one of the Feasts of the Lord is intertwined with an attitude of Thanksgiving, which is also connected to giving God glory.
Psalm 50:23 “A sacrifice of praise (thanksgiving) honors Me, and to the one who orders his way, I will show the salvation of God.” God is rejoicing over you. He can’t wait to bless you. Zephaniah 3:17 “Adonai your God is in your midst—a mighty Savior! He will delight over you with joy. He will quiet you with His love. He will dance for joy over you with singing.”
Let’s pray… Romans 15:5 Now may the God of patience and encouragement grant you to be like-minded with one another in the manner of Messiah Yeshua, 6 so that together with one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Amen and amen. Shalom shalom.
