RR Psalms 30:3 Part 2
Shalom,
Psalm 30:3 Adonai my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
This verse states a very common theme throughout Scripture: We cry out to God for help and He meets us at the point of our need and heals us. Sounds a bit too much like a fairy tale, doesn’t it? Well God is not your fairy godmother, nor is He your genie in a bottle. So, we should stop treating Him that way. This brings Psalm 34 to mind (even though we are presently only on Psalm 30).
Psalm 34:4 Magnify Adonai with me and let us exalt His Name together. 5 I sought Adonai, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
The greatest miracle in the world is that the almighty God, creator of the world and everything in it (He must be really smart to make it all work together amidst the never ceasing chaos) loves you and me, and wants to express that love through a family relationship. Therefore; He sent us His Son as provision for that relationship.
Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of time came, God sent out His Son, born of a woman and born under law— 5 to free those under law, so we might receive adoption as sons. 6 Now because you are sons, God sent the Ruach of His Son into our hearts, who cries out, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave but a son—and if a son, also an heir through God.
This is far from a fairy tale or magical genie story. This is the reality of God’s love for us. 1John 3:1a See how glorious a love the Father has given us, that we should be called God’s children—and so we are! In Hebrew, we call this “Achi Tov,” meaning “the very best.”
Isaiah 55:6 Seek Adonai while He may be found, call on Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous one his thoughts, let him return to Adonai, so He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
Receiving God’s love and forgiveness is the best healing for which any of us could ever hope. Shalom shalom.
