RR Psalm 61:7,8 Part 7

Shalom,

Psalm 61:7 May You add days to the king’s days. May his years span many generations. 8 May he be enthroned before God forever. Appoint mercy and truth to protect him.

Who is this “king?”  I notice that the TLV chose not to capitalize it.  However; my own interpretation is that King David is writing here prophetically, not about himself or his son, Solomon, but about the King of the Jews Who will be “enthroned before God forever.”  Want some more good news?  We know His name, Yeshua HaMashiach!

My goodness, this is going to take some “unpacking.”  May “days (upon) days be added to this King’s reign.  Even His years (should last) for generations and generations.”  This King isn’t just going to live for a long time, He will reign for eternity.  The Torah sets a standard for a matter to become truth.  Deuteronomy 19:15b …By the word of two or three witnesses is a case to be established.

So Paul offers the first witness.  Ephesians 3:21 to Him be the glory in the community of believers and in Messiah Yeshua throughout all generations forever and ever! Amen.  Now listen to the message of this “Shofar sounding angel”… Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel trumpeted, and there were loud voices in heaven saying, “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Anointed One. And He shall reign forever and ever!”

As you can easily see below, today is the 7th of Elul, the month we prepare for the Fall Feasts of the Lord.  The first of these is Yom Teruah (literally, the Day of the Shout) on the first of Tishre.  We commonly refer to it as the Feast of Trumpets or Rosh Hashanah (New Year).  It is a day set aside to anticipate the crowning of Yeshua as King.

So let’s prepare our hearts to receive the King.  Zechariah 14:4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives which lies to the east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a huge valley. Half of the mountain will move toward the north and half of it toward the south.

Step one in preparation, “REPENT!”  Search your hearts so God doesn’t have to.  Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart. Examine me, and know my anxious thoughts, 24 and see if there be any offensive way within me, and lead me in the way everlasting.  We better get ready, the King is coming.  Shalom shalom.
