RR Psalm 45:5(4) Part 3

Shalom,

Psalm 45:5 In your majesty ride victoriously, on behalf of truth, meekness and justice. Let your right hand display awesome things.

Verse 5 today picks right up where verse 4 left off yesterday.  “Your majesty” (at the end of verse 4) is repeated to start verse 5.  “In Your majesty” is a description to what comes next.  We are still describing the One Who is most beautiful (handsome) from verse 1.  The description is that He will ride in prosperity (victoriously).  Yet, we must wonder, will it be on a horse or on a donkey?  The answer is conditional.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you, a righteous one bringing salvation. He is lowly, riding on a donkey—on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Of course, that was a prophecy about His first coming and the triumphant arrival into Jerusalem.  But, there is soon coming another victorious ride, this time on a white horse.

Revelation 19:11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The One riding on it is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness.

Notice the characteristics that describe this rider in our subject verse and the rider of both Zechariah and Revelation.  “Truth ( Emet ), Lowly or meek ( Anvah ), and justice or righteousness ( Tzedek ) are used prophetically in Psalm 45 and again in the prophetic revelation of both Zechariah and the Book of Revelation.

Finally, this is the “Son of the right hand” (Binyamin), Who will teach us the Torah.  Yes, “Torah” is actually used in the Psalm.  It is confirmed by Isaiah who also uses the word “Torah.”   Isaiah 42:21 Adonai was pleased, for the sake of His righteousness, to make Torah great and glorious.  What a mighty God we serve.  His word all fits (like a hand in a glove) from beginning to end.  And we will soon see this One is actually called “Elohim.”  Yes, He is the Son of God.  As such, He is not less than God, but God as well.  John 14:9b He who has seen Me has seen the Father. Shalom shalom.
