RR Psalm 45:7(6) Part 5

(Early) Shabbat Shalom,

Psalm 45:7 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and a scepter of justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.

God’s “throne” in Hebrew is His “Kisay” which is the Hebrew word for “chair.”  However; when God has a “chair” it becomes His “throne.”  And His throne, which is the symbol of His enduring authority, and every “omni” characteristic possible (omniscient, omnipotent, etc.), is “forever and ever.”

In Hebrew, we find the words “Olam” and “Va’ed,” indicating eternity in space (Olam is the Hebrew word for all of creation, universe) [“Va” is simply “and.”]  The Hebrew “Ed” (Ayin-Dalet) means “until,” or forever in time.  You might ask, “Until what?” but that’s the point, until eternity (the end that never comes).

Rabbi Trail:  Interestingly, those same two Hebrew letters (Ayin-Dalet) are voweled slightly differently for a whole new meaning.  Instead of “Ed,” “Ad” is the Hebrew word for “witness.”  God’s throne is also a witness of His authority.  Matthew 28:18 And Yeshua came up to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”

Yeshua’s authority is the basis of the “Great Commission.”  He sends us out with authority because He has all authority.  Therefore; He delegates His authority to us, so long as we use it wisely.  Remember, any authority we have is always His.  As Rush Limbaugh used to say, “Talent on loan from God.”  End RT.

God’s scepter is another symbol of His authority.  God’s scepter in Hebrew is His “Shevet.”  A ”Shevet” is the stick or club that designates a tribe.  This is actually the same word as “tribe.”  When we receive Yeshua as our Lord and Savior, we become part of His tribe, with permission to use His delegated authority.  John 14:12 “Amen, amen I tell you, he who puts his trust in Me, the works that I do he will do; and greater than these he will do, because I am going to the Father.”

One more thing today.  The “scepter of justice” is also (according to the Hebrew words used) the tribe of the “straight way” (upright and righteous). John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.  Walk in that victory.  Shalom shalom.
