RR Psalm 43:3 Part 3
Shalom,
Psalm 43:3 Send forth Your light and Your truth—let them guide me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain and to Your dwelling places.
It is easy to be guided by light. “Send forth Your light to guide me.” Yeshua promised as much about Himself… John 8:12 Yeshua spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows Me will no longer walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Other Scriptures bear witness too… Matthew 4:16 “the people sitting in darkness have seen a great light, and those sitting in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.” This confirms the prophecy of Isaiah 9:1 The people walking in darkness will see a great light. Upon those dwelling in the land of the shadow of death, light will shine.
Alternatively, this is a call for the truth of the Lord to be our guide. There is another way to say that… As further proof, we quote Yeshua… John 16:13a But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth.
So we are offered guidance by both light and truth. Luke chapter 4 quotes Psalm 91… Psalm 91:11 For He will give His angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. 12 Upon their hands they will lift you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
Yes, lifted up and brought to Mount Zion (God’s holy mountain) where the Mishkan (Tabernacle) is. The Hebrew “Mem” in front of any word makes that word into a noun form (a person, place or thing). You have probably heard of the “Shekenah, glory of God.” Mishkan is another way of saying “God’s neighborhood.”
We are directed by the light of the Lord to follow the path of righteousness He sets before us so we will enter into His neighborhood. Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. Jeremiah 6:16a Thus says Adonai: “Stand in the roads and look. Ask for the ancient paths—where the good way is—and walk in it. Then you will find rest for your souls. That sounds like God is leading His people into His neighborhood. Shalom shalom.
