RR Psalm 40:9(8) Part 7

Shalom,

Psalm 40:9 “I delight to do Your will, O my God. Yes, Your Torah is within my being.”

David is writing, but the Lord, Yeshua, is speaking.  Surely every verse of Scripture is a “life verse” for Yeshua, but this one in particular has a special place “within His being.”  This verse is a manifestation of the spirit of prophecy.  Prophetic writing is not “divination!”  Prophetic writing is NOT “fortune telling.”  The spirit of prophecy is speaking the revelation of the will of God.  Revelation 19:10 Then I fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that—for I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Yeshua. Worship God! For the testimony of Yeshua is the Spirit of Prophecy.”

What is the will of God, that so delights our speaker?  The second half of this verse tells us the truth; the will of God is that obey God.  Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven…. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.”

Hear Yeshua’s confession… John 5:30 “I can do nothing on My own. Just as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, for I do not seek My own will, but the will of the One who sent Me.”

We must renounce sin… Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them….17 For this reason do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.  After all, WWYD?  Shalom shalom.
