RR Psalm 40:6(5) Part 4
Shalom,
Psalm 40:6 Many things You have done, Adonai my God—Your plans for us are wonderful—there is none to be compared to You! If I were to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to count!
Go ahead! Ask the Lord, “Who loves me more than you do?” Or, put another way, “How much do You love me?” Paul attempted to answer that question with this prayer…. Ephesians 3:14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father—… 19 and to know the love of Messiah which surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled up with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do far beyond all that we ask or imagine, by means of His power that works in us, 21 to Him be the glory in the community of believers and in Messiah Yeshua throughout all generations forever and ever! Amen.
Yeshua answered the question, “This much!” when He stretched out His arms on the Cross and laid down His life. But that miracle has no end. Yeshua rose from the dead to lead us in resurrection life for all eternity.
Do you see above the phrase, “Your plans for us are wonderful?” Anther translation for the Hebrew would be, “Your thoughts (toward us) are miraculous. God is so powerful, He doesn’t have to “do,” (as the Hebrew says) He only has to “think” about miracles and His miracles overwhelm us.
Satan (the counterfeit to God) is a lot like a prostitute, making deals and trading something for something. No so with God, who keeps covenant for all eternity. God is not trading, He alone is giving (cutting) covenant by grace. (Abraham was asleep when God cut covenant with him in Genesis 15.). Later, when he was 99, Abraham would seal the covenant through the cutting of circumcision.
Many generations later, Yeshua Himself would seal the covenant with His own blood. Matthew 26:28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the removal of sins. How is that for the miracle working power of the love of God? Shalom shalom.
