Psalm 37:25,26 Part 16
Shalom,
Psalm 37:25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous one forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. 26 All day long he is gracious and lends. So his offspring will be a blessing.
What kind of a man is this? We are continuing the story of the man who takes delight in the ways of the LORD. Now he makes a declaration as a witness to God’s goodness. “I have been (both) young and old, and I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking (looking for) bread.” (My translation.) Yeshua, who is the “Righteous One” said as much in many places.
The writer of Hebrews (a really smart Messianic rabbi) quoted both Deuteronomy 31:6 & 8 as well as Psalm 118:6 here… Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lifestyle free from the love of money, and be content with what you have. For God Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” 6 so that with confidence we say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What will man do to me?”
My sense, after studying this, is that there is more on this “table” than a loaf of bread. Let’s take to heart Yeshua’s words as He concluded His comments at the well in Samaria. John 4:32 But He said to them (Yeshua’s disciples), “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” Yet they were clueless as to what Yeshua was speaking, so… John 4:34 Yeshua tells them, “My food is to do the will of the One who sent Me and to accomplish His work.”
Hear the words of Yeshua, as He spoke the great commission, and find the “bread of His presence”… Matthew 28:18 And Yeshua came up to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Ruach ha-Kodesh, 20 teaching them to observe all I have commanded you. And remember! I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
When we say (or pray), “In the name of Yeshua…” we are calling down power from heaven by the “ALL AUTHORITY” given “in heaven and on earth.” This is all the power necessary to win, win, win for the Kingdom of God, and take back what the enemy has stolen. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I have come that they might have life, and have it abundantly! Yeshua is the only “bread” that satisfies.
John 6:32 Yeshua answered them, “Amen, amen I tell you, it isn’t Moses who has given you bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the One coming down from heaven and giving life to the world.”… 35 Yeshua said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.”
So, there you have it. Only Yeshua fulfills (meaning only He fill us up completely)! Shalom shalom.
