RR Psalm 37:14,15 Part 10

(Early) Shabbat Shalom {{firstName}},

Psalm 37:14 The wicked have unsheathed their sword and have bent their bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose conduct is upright. 15 Their sword will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.

Do we believe what God has said?  Of course, on the surface we do, and the answer is, “Yes!”  But at a deeper level, when we really believe God….  This brings to mind David’s situation in 1 Samuel 30.  While he was away with his army, fighting and winning for the Lord, the enemy plundered his camp and stole everything.

1Samuel 30:6a So David was in a serious bind, for the troops were calling for his stoning.  But David strengthened himself in Adonai his God.  Each of us will be tried in similar fashion.   The only question left to answer is, how will we respond to adversity?

1Samuel 30:18 So David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken, and rescued his two wives. 19 There was nothing of theirs missing, whether young or old, sons or daughters, spoils or anything else that had been carried off—David recovered everything.  And so will we recover everything, if we do not shy away from what we hear God saying.  God will bring back on our enemies the evil they have intended for us, for He is “Shomair Yisrael,” the Guardian of Israel.  Shalom shalom.
