RR Psalm 57:9,10 Part 5

Shalom,

Psalm 57:9 Awake, my glory! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. 10 I will praise You, my Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to You among the nations.

Rabbi Trail:  Last Friday, the last time I wrote an RR, I shared an Hebrew song performed by Sheli Myers with this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGImjZQaSqU  Many of you already clicked and listened.  The Hebrew is taken from Psalm 57, verses 8, 10 and 12.  Here is the translation….

Psalm 57:8 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing, yes, I will make music…. 10 I will praise You, my Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to You among the nations…. 12 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let Your glory be over all the earth!

End RT.

King David is writing prophetically about a ministry, as if it is his own, while it will really belong to David’s Son, Yeshua.  In Psalm 57, verse 10, David writes of a global ministry in several different, and (what turns out to be) all encompassing ways.  Psalm 57:10 I will praise You, my Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to You among the nations.

The words that caught my attention are “Ba’Amim” (spelled “Bet-Ayin-Mem-Yud-Mem”) meaning “in (or among) people.”  The second word is hyphenated “Bal-Umim” (spelled Bet-Lamed-Aleph-Mem-Yud-Mem) meaning from within and to nations.  David is prophesying what he, himself, never did.  Therefore; it has to be the Greater David, David’s Son Yeshua, Who will Psalm 57:10… “praise You, my Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to You among the nations.”

Rabbi’s Note: In biblical terms, the “nations” are those people who live outside of the commonwealth of the Hebrew people.

Turns out that because we belong to Yeshua, His ministry is our ministry.  Isaiah 43:19 Here I am, doing a new thing; Now it is springing up—do you not know about it?…21 the people I formed for Myself, so they might declare My praise.

Hebrews 13:15 Through Yeshua then, let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips giving thanks to His name.

This is our delight, and you have to know it delights Him too.  Shalom shalom.
