RR Psalm 35:6,7,8 Part 4
Shalom,
Psalm 35:6 May their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of Adonai pursuing them. 7 For without cause they hid their net for me, and without cause they dug a pit for my soul. 8 Let ruin come upon him by surprise. Let the net he hid entangle himself—into that same pit let him fall.
These verses for today continue the thought that began back in verse 4, Psalm 35:4a May those who seek my life be ashamed and disgraced. Let me ask you a rhetorical question… “Can you make a deal with the devil?” Can you say to him, “I won’t disturb your works of evil if you won’t disturb my works of righteousness?” Let me answer for you, “No way!” By definition, you can’t make a deal with a liar. By definition, your works of righteousness must destroy Satan’s works of sickness, death and destruction.
1John 3:8b Ben-Elohim appeared for this purpose—to destroy the works of the devil.
Hebrews 2:14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared the same humanity—so that through death He might break the power of the one who had the power of death (that is, the devil).
If you love the Lord, His enemies are your enemies. Just as they pursued Yeshua, and ultimately crucified Him, “HaSatan” (the adversary) and his minions are dedicated to opposing your relationship with the risen Lord. Note: These minions are not the cute little one eyed cartoon characters, but the demonic realm of satan and his fallen angels.
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have shalom. In the world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world!”
We must take back what has been stolen from us. The shalom of God was lost in the Garden when Adam and Eve allowed rebellion against God to enter the world. Yeshua had to come to restore what was lost. John 14:27 “Shalom I leave you, My shalom I give to you; but not as the world gives! Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid. And He is coming again to establish His kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven.
We must be His ambassadors… 2Corinthians 5:21 He made the One who knew no sin to become a sin offering on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. Satan (the opposer) wants to prevent you from fulfilling that destiny. Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Yeshua has prayed for you. (It would be good to read His entire prayer found in John 17, but in case you’re pressed for time, here are a few excerpts.
John 17:15 “I am not asking that You take them out of the world (remember, we are ambassadors), but that You keep them from the evil one”….20 I pray not on behalf of these only, but also for those who believe in Me through their message, 21 that they all may be one. Just as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You, so also may they be one in Us, so the world may believe that You sent Me.”
Our objective remains, “Thy kingdom come.” Shalom shalom.
