Psalm 28:8 – Part 11
Psalm 28:8 Adonai is their strength—a stronghold of salvation for His anointed.
For the past four days we have been meditating our way through verse 7. Today, verse 8 “explodes” as a power filled verse with “Yeshua” (Salvation) and “Mashiach” (Anointed) as there are references to both of Yeshua’s names which are used to describe those who follow Yehovah(YHVH). Furthermore; verse 8 seems to be a restatement of verse 7. Verse 7 is written in the first person while verse 8 is written in the third person. First King David wrote in verse 7, “my strength… my heart,,, (twice) I am helped… and I will praise Him…. Then, verse 8 follows that by expanding the blessing to those to whom Adonai is “their strength”… (twice), their stronghold of salvation to those who claim His anointing.
Who is “Adonai?” We must see that Adonai is Who He says He is, and He says He is Yeshua. Most of the time, “Adonai” is a substitute name used as a convention by rabbinical scholars to avoid mentioning the unmentionable name of God, the “Yud-Hay-Vav-Hay.” (See the RR from Monday, May 5th, Part 7.) If “Adonai” is the Son of God (our Father), how could all those rabbinical scholars miss it?
The truth is that all of them didn’t miss it. Some, like Rabbi Leopold Cohn, got it. https://www.jewishtestimonies.com/en/leopold-cohn-the-quest-of-a-young-rabbi/. And there are many more… here are ten such testimonies in a book by Sid Roth (2009) https://theythoughtforthemselves.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/TheyThoughtforThemselves.pdf And while we’re on the subject… https://jewsforjesus.org/.
You may have noticed, we are currently on day 20 of the counting of the Omer. We will keep counting until day 49. Then we stop counting, because day 50 is Shavuot (you may know it as Pentecost). We started counting on resurrection day. Leviticus 23:15 “Then you are to count from the morrow after the Shabbat, from the day that you brought the omer of the wave offering, seven complete Shabbatot.”
The first 40 days after His resurrection, Yeshua was with the Apostles. Acts 1:3 To them (the Apostles) He showed Himself to be alive after His suffering through many convincing proofs, appearing to them for forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. And there is Yeshua’s own testimony…
John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.”
John 14:9 Yeshua said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time, and you haven’t come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. We looked upon His glory, the glory of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Isaiah saw Him (chapter 6). Asher Intrater’s book, “Who Ate Lunch With Abraham?” https://www.tikkunglobal.org/product-page/who-ate-lunch-with-abraham-asher-intrater (Also the title of the first chapter) provides the most exhaustive answer to these questions.
It is intentional that Yeshua died on the cross, under a sign in three languages, “King of the Jews.” May blind eyes be opened… we pray in agreement with the last verse of Psalm 83… Psalm 83:19 Let them know that You alone—whose Name is Adonai(YHVH)—are El Elyon over all the earth. V’shem Yeshua Mishichenu (in the name of Yeshua our Messiah). Amen. Shalom shalom.
