RR Psalm 31:19,20 Part 16

Shalom,

Psalm 31:19 Let the lying lips be mute. For they speak arrogantly against the righteous, with pride and contempt. 20 How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You have given to those who take refuge in You, before the children of men.

The contrast here is between lying lips and God’s goodness.  The “lying lips” are directed against the righteous.  Contrarily, God’s goodness is described as being “stored up for those who fear” God.  Whether you acknowledge it or not, there is an ongoing battle for your soul.  Although Satan’s name means “adversary,” our God is greater!  Moreover; He is greater in the battle for your soul.  1John 4:4 You are from God, children, and you have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

It is important that we remember that Satan will lie to us.  John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks lies he is just being himself—for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

Even so, we have choices, today and every day.  Though the winner of the conflict between God and the adversary is never in doubt, we still determine who will be our champion.  Remember, Satan lied to Yeshua and he is lying to you.  1John 3:8 The one who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. Ben-Elohim appeared for this purpose—to destroy the works of the devil.

Choose wisely, choose righteousness, choose the goodness of God.  Romans 6:2b How can we who died to sin still live in it?… 10 For the death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. 11 So also continually count yourselves both dead to sin and alive to God in Messiah Yeshua. 12 Therefore do not let sin rule in your mortal body so that you obey its desires….14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.  Shalom shalom.
