RR Psalm 47:9(8) Part 8

Rabbi’s Reflections - Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Shalom,

Psalm 47:9(8) God reigns over the nations. God sits upon His holy throne.

Elohim is mentioned by that name twice in this verse.  First, as the One Who is ruling over the nations (“Goyim” in Hebrew).  This must be prophecy, because God is certainly not reigning over the nations today.  However; that day is certainly coming.  King David spoke into this…

Psalm 110:1 A psalm of David. Adonai says to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”

Following that prophecy (God will rule over rebellious nations), Elohim is named again as the One sitting on His holy throne (the implication is that He alone is ruling and reigning.  Is there other Scriptural proof for this magnificent turn of world leadership?  Every Jewish prophet (is there any other kind) saw all or part of this day coming. In particular, I want to draw attention to Daniel, Isaiah, and John, who all saw this day, and called forth the righteous reality of the rule of Yeshua.

Daniel 2:44 “Now in the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will this kingdom be left to another people. It will crush and bring to an end all of these kingdoms. But it will endure forever.

Isaiah 9:6 Of the increase of His government and shalom there will be no end—on the throne of David and over His kingdom—to establish it and uphold it through justice and righteousness from now until forevermore. The zeal of Adonai-Tzva’ot will accomplish this.

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel trumpeted, and there were loud voices in heaven saying, “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Anointed One. And He shall reign forever and ever!”

If you believe the Bible, then you believe we are headed toward a “great divide” between that which is holy and what is common, unclean, or a rebellious violation of God’s enduring commandments. Decide today, (repent, fully surrender, and plead the blood of Yeshua over your life) and thus confirm you will spend eternity in the presence of King Yeshua, singing His praises.  Shalom shalom.
