RR Psalm 63:12 Part 7
Shalom,
Psalm 63:12 But the king will rejoice in God. All who swear by Him will boast, when the mouth speaking lies is shut.
“But”… We started verse 10 with a “but.” Now in verse 12, we start with another “but.” However; neither of those “but”s are in the Hebrew. What is there is the conjunction “and,” so a better translation might be “and therefore.” The Scriptures are telling a story of a series of events in which one event leads us to the next. “This” happens “and” (consequently) “that” happens.
This leads us to rightly observe the “push/pull” taking place within Scripture. There are those who are for God, and the opposing presence of those who are against God. The opposition is pushing us away from God and the power of God is pulling us toward Him.
Push: Psalm 63:10 But those who seek my soul to destroy it will go down to the depths of the earth. 11 They will be gutted by the sword, and become a prey for jackals.
Pull: Psalm 63:12a But the king will rejoice in God. All who swear by Him will boast.
Although they (the opposition) may not know it yet (we do know this) , there is no contest. The victory is already assured.
1Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who keeps giving us the victory through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah!
We have all read it, believed what we have read, and have faith that God has prophesied the truth to us.
Push: Revelation 22:15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Pull: Revelation 22:16 I, Yeshua, have sent My angel to testify these things to you for My communities. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” 17 The Ruach and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come—let the one who wishes freely take the water of life!
And (therefore, consequently), we have the prophesied result. John 14:27a “Shalom I leave you, My shalom I give to you…” Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been made righteous by trusting, we have shalom with God through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Yes, shalom to the people of God. That is our inheritance in Messiah Yeshua. Shalom shalom.
