RR Psalm 63:3,4 Part 2

Shalom,

Psalm 63:3 So, I looked for You in the Sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. 4 Since Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.

David looked for God in the Sanctuary.  Since we don’t have THE Sanctuary with us today, where will you look for God?  1Corinthians 3:!6 Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that the Ruach Elohim dwells among you?  These Psalms are poetic language filled with layer upon layer of meaning.  We will never exhaust the possibilities.  To do so would mean we have come to a full understanding of God (and His character).  That’s never going to happen, at least not on this side of eternity.

1Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known.

Let’s return to our subject verses.  Verse 3 ends with that same combo we had at the end of Psalm 62, power (Oz) and glory (Chesed).  (Remember, the merciful One is mighty?)  Although God has all power, He has chosen to bless us with grace.  The Hebrew says, Your grace is better (literally, “more good”) than life.

Take a moment to appreciate God’s love for you.  Trials, yes!  Times of trouble, you bet!  Tests and temptations, of course!  Yet, through it all, we hold on to this promise.  Psalm 91:14 “Because he has devoted his love to Me, I will deliver him. I will set him securely on high, because he knows My Name. 15 When he calls on Me, I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble, rescue him, and honor him.”

Is that it?  What is our hope beyond honor and rescue?  Psalm 91:16 “With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.”  That “satisfaction” (The Hebrew word is “Sava” [Shin-Bet-Ayin] meaning to be filled and fully satisfied.)  God is providing satisfaction, and at the same time, revealing His Yeshua (Salvation found through faith in the person of Yeshua).  This is “the bread of life.”

Therefore; we can’t help ourselves, we must shout His praises.  Look up and give Him praise (do it now).  Watch closely, immediately troubles shrink.  Psalm 121:1 A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the mountains—from where does my help come? 2 My help comes from Adonai, Maker of heaven and earth.  Shalom shalom.
