RR Psalm 61:1-5 Part 3

Shalom,

Psalm 61:1 For the music director, on string instrument, of David. 2 Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer. 3 From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 4 For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength before the enemy. 5 Let me dwell in Your tent forever. Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

The second part of verse 3 is simply translated, “I call to You.”  It is made of two Hebrew words, “Aylecha Ekrah.”  “Aylecha” is “to you” in a very formal structure.  “Ekrah” is a future form (I will call out) of “Likrah,” which is the infinitive “to call out.”  I mention the “future form” because that fits our understanding of time and tense.  But with God, things are different.  

To God, what is past is complete, and what is future is incomplete (or not yet completed).  Therefore; what we call future is not yet completed to God.  So “I will call out” becomes “I will never stop calling out” or “I will keep on calling out to You.”  A certain parable comes to mind.

Luke 18:1 Then Yeshua told them a parable to show that they should always pray and not be discouraged,… 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice so she won’t wear me out by her incessant coming.’”… 7 Won’t God do justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He be slow to help them?

Yes, cry out to God, day and night.  Isaiah 58:9a Then you will call, and Adonai will answer. You will cry and He will say, “Here I am.”  Wait, before you go skipping into “La La Land,” read the context… Isaiah 58:6 “Is not this the fast I choose:… 7a Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,(NOW insert Isaiah 58:9a from above, then follows.) 9b If you get rid of the yoke among you—finger-pointing and badmouthing— 10 If you give yourself to the hungry, and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness, and your gloom will be like midday.

With this we’re getting a greater sense of the reality in which God wants to prepare His people for the feasts that start September 11, 2026, and the greater reality of His soon and coming return to the earth.  Luke 18:8b “But when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”  Shalom shalom.
