The Psalms
Psalm 5:6,7(5,6) – Part 4

Psalm 5:6 Braggarts will not stand before Your eyes. You hate all wrongdoers. 7 You destroy those who speak falsehood. A person of bloodshed and deceit Adonai detests.

Uh oh! It seems like we’re all in trouble.  Last time I checked, we all either do fit or have at some point in our lives fit into one or more of these categories…  Braggart (check), wrongdoer (check), liar (check), killer (not that I know of), deceitful (check).  And the penalty?  Separated from God (those who will not stand before His eyes), hated by God (in Scripture, God “hates” anything that takes His place as preeminent), destroyed by God (the end of that destruction is to be cast with Satan into the lake of fire), and as if all that isn’t enough, be detested by Adonai.

My suggestion, take the first step and repent.  Pay attention, if repentance is only the first step, what is the next step?  What are you gonna do?  The answer hasn’t changed in 2,000 years, since Peter preached on Shavuot (Pentecost)…

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the emissaries, “Fellow brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and let each of you be immersed in the name of Messiah Yeshua for the removal of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Ruach ha-Kodesh.

It’s a three step process…(1) Repent, (2) go through the Mikveh (Baptism)  through faith in Messiah Yeshua, and (3) receive the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).  Then, just like the children of Israel in ancient Egypt, the death of the tenth plague will not touch you because you’ll be protected by the blood of the Lamb of God.  When God pours out His wrath, you will be passed over.

Our subject verses anticipate much destruction from the judgment of God, but God has made the way of redemption through His Son, Yeshua.  Receive your blessing today with thanksgiving, and you will be saved.  Shalom shalom.
