One In Messiah part 52 – Romans, part 163

Romans 11:23 And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again.

“Them Hebrews!”  Say it with a Hillbilly drawl.  “God (pronounced ‘Gawd’)  is able to graft them Hebrews in again.”   This is good news!  It is what we’ve hoped for.  There is hope for the future of Israel.  Finally, the lament of the Exodus is silenced.

Exodus 14:11 They said to Moses, “Have you taken us away to die in the wilderness because there were no graves in Egypt? Why have you dealt this way with us, to bring us out of Egypt? 12 Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Let us alone, so that we may serve the Egyptians?’ It was better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness!”

I believe that the Israeli National Anthem was God’s choice.  It is called “Hatikvah” which means “The Hope.”  And yet, what we hope for is not yet realized.  We hope for the salvation of all Israel (as we will see before this week is over).  Let’s recall Ezekiel’s vision, which is in two parts.

Part 1: Ezekiel 37:7 So I prophesied just as I was commanded. As I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, an earthquake. Then the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 I saw, and behold, there were tendons on them, flesh came up and skin covered them above, but there was no breath in them.  Flesh and bones, but no spirit (breath).

Part 2: Ezekiel 37:10 So I prophesied just as He commanded me. The Ruach came into them and they lived. They stood up on their feet, a vast army.  Then the spirit comes and they live.

Conclusion: Ezekiel 37:12b …I will bring you back to the land of Israel…. 14a I will put My Ruach in you and you will live.  First the ingathering, then the Spirit of God that gives life.

Let’s close the circle.  The Spirit of God comes into Israel through faith in Yeshua, the promised Messiah.  Salvation is the meaning of Yeshua’s Hebrew name.  (In His lifetime He never had an English name.)  Psalm 14:7 O may He give Israel’s salvation out of Zion! When Adonai restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad!  Jeremiah had much to say about this as well.

Jeremiah 31:31 “Behold, days are coming”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 32 not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they broke My covenant, though I was a husband to them.” it is a declaration of Adonai. 33 “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“I will put My Torah within them. Yes, I will write it on their heart. I will be their God and they will be My people.

We’ll pick this up again tomorrow with more good news.  Until then, shalom shalom.
