Rabbi’s Reflections – Wednesday, June 24, 2020
I mentioned before that I’m reading “The Prayer Life” by Andrew Murray. In chapter 5 he makes this statement. “… (W)hat God wills to accomplish on earth needs prayer as its indispensable condition.” Consider how many times the gospels report on the prayers of Yeshua. We are called to have the faith OF Yeshua (not just a faith “about” Him).
His faith is expressed in a life of prayer. Luke 9 tells us of one such episode. Luke 9:28b Yeshua took Peter, John, and Jacob(James) with Him and went up the mountain to pray. 29 While He was praying, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothing flashed like white lightning.
We all want to see God manifested in our lives, in the lives of our family, friends and others in our faith community. We want to see worldwide revival. None of this will happen without an abundance of prayer.
We all want the promise of God’s desire for our lives…. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans that I have in mind for you,” declares Adonai, “plans for shalom and not calamity—to give you a future and a hope.”
But the following verse shows us how God works…. Jeremiah 29:12 “Then you will call on Me, and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”
And, when we obey His desire for us to call upon Him, look what happens…. Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you— I will tell you great and hidden things, which you do not know.”
Let’s seek the Lord as children of grace. Isaiah 55:6 Seek Adonai while He may be found, call on Him while He is near.
Memory Verse: Daniel 6:27(26) I issue a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom people are to tremble with fear before the God of Daniel. “For He is the living God, enduring forever! His kingdom will never be destroyed, His dominion will never end. 28(27) He delivers and rescues. He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth. He has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions!”

Question of the day: Ezra 1:1b …Adonai stirred up the spirit of King Cyrus…. What is our prayer for the modern Cyrus?
Answer: Many have said that President Harry Truman was a modern Cyrus. Truly he did rise up, standing against many in his own party and administration to support the formation of the State of Israel. There is another President whose name begins with the same four letters. It is President Trump. There is evident that same spirit of support for Israel is upon our current President as well.
President Trump is also standing for Israel against many in his own party and administration. Many have prayed for the words of Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel to be fulfilled. While Cyrus did answer his call in his day, there is more concerning Israel that is not yet fulfilled. There is another “Cyrus” call today. Please join me in prayer that our current President, Donald J. Trump, will answer his own “Cyrus” call.
You are reading the RR for Wednesday, June 24th. This is the day that Trumps advisors have planned to meet with him in the White House on the question of annexation by Israel of Judea and Samaria. Please pray that God’s purposes to restore Israel and the timing for its fulfillment will merge into what Don Finto calls a “this is that” moment.
Isaiah 61:4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins. They will restore former desolations. They will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.
I believe this is a key step in starting a celebration that will result in the salvation of all Israel. Isaiah 61:10 I will rejoice greatly in Adonai. My soul will be joyful in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me in a robe of righteousness— like a bridegroom wearing a priestly turban, like a bride adorning herself with her jewels.
