Rabbi’s Reflections – Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Shalom,

I write the RR every day before it is published at 6pm that night.  All of us have been watching the spread of COVID-19 and the reaction to that threat.  Ironically, most plans for Passover have already been cancelled due to a plague.  My wedding to Jan Strous was planned for April 4th, but the Governor saw to it that it was cancelled (large gatherings are prohibited).  So we decided to elope… tonight (Monday night).  If you would like to attend our ceremony by virtual reality, it will be live around 5pm and online afterward.  It will be available on the Shomair Yisrael Facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/shomair.yisrael

Due to all of this, (Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?) there will be no RR tonight.  Interestingly, this is the 1,000th RR since I started writing them on June 27, 2017.  Blessings, and stay thirsty (for God) my friends.

Week 13
Memory Verse: Joshua 24:14 “Now therefore, fear Adonai and worship Him in sincerity and in truth. Get rid of the gods that your fathers had worshipped beyond the River and in Egypt, and worship Adonai. 15 If it seems bad to you to worship Adonai, then choose for yourselves today whom you will serve—whether the gods that your fathers worshipped that were beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will worship Adonai!”
