Shalom,

Psalms
Psalm 25:10 – Part 13

Psalm 25:10 All Adonai’s ways are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

Yeshua is “the way and the truth.”  John 14:6 Yeshua said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life! No one comes to the Father except through Me.  In the first half of our subject verse, the emphasis is on God, Whose name is Yehovah(YHVH).  These are His “paths!”  They are described as belonging to Him.  His paths are made up of His “lovingkindness” (Chesed) and His “truth” (Emet).

Psa 86:11  Teach me Your way, Adonai, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart to fear Your Name.

Then, in the second half of the verse, there is a transition to those who keep HIs covenant (singular) and His testimonies (plural).  There is a parallel here worthy of our attention.  Chesed (a deep love that manifests as grace) in the first part is parallel to Covenant in the second part.  Have you ever heard of a covenant (one covenant) of grace?  Sure thing!

Hebrews 9:15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that those called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—since a death has taken place that redeems them from violations under the first covenant.

The other parallel is to match up truth in the first part to testimonies (plural) in the second part.  This also makes sense.  A testimony (and there are many) is always based on what is true.  Furthermore; the testimonies are described as HIS testimonies.  Every testimony of God is based on the truth of God.  It’s important to remember that every testimony is only valid if it is an accurate (truthful) report of a personal experience.

A “testimony” of someone else’s experience is called “hearsay” and is not admissible in court.  And we must be ready to provide testimony of God’s goodness.  1Peter 3:15 Instead sanctify Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.  Shalom shalom.
