Psalm 25:3 – Part 3
Psalm 25:3 Surely no one who waits for You will be ashamed. But the treacherous without cause will be ashamed.
There is waiting, and then there is waiting. There is ordinary waiting, like passing time, and then there is spiritual waiting with anticipation and expectation. Spiritual waiting is what “Qavah” is all about. The Hebrew word “Qavah” can also connote a gathering together, or binding, as in a cord. Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though a man might overpower one, two can stand against him. Moreover a threefold cord cannot be quickly broken.
When we are bound up with the Lord, we are not easily defeated. We need each other, but the third part of that unbreakable bond is the Lord. In Him we have the power of “Qavah.” That “Qavah” could also reference Jewish people together with non-Jewish people, gathered together with Messiah Yeshua, in order to form an unbreakable bond that will prevail against every treacherous enemy. Ephesians 2:14 For He is our shalom, the One who made the two into one and broke down the middle wall of separation. Within His flesh He made powerless the hostility. That’s two of us plus one of Him equals three “Qavah,” those who have gathered with patience to prevail.
That’s what we do; we wait. These Scriptures provide clear instruction.
Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for Adonai will renew their strength. They will soar up with wings as eagles. They will run, and not grow weary. They will walk, and not be faint.
Micah 7:7 But I—I will watch for Adonai. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
Lamentations 3:24 “Adonai is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” 25 Adonai is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him. 26 It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of Adonai.
We wait with expectation for the salvation (Yeshua) of God. Shalom shalom.
