Psalms
Psalm 21:9(8) – Part 7
Psalm 21:9 Your hand will find all Your enemies. Your right hand will overtake those who hate You. 10 You will make them like a fiery furnace at the time of Your appearing. In His wrath Adonai will swallow them up and fire will consume them.
“Your hand” will find all Your enemies! Whose hand is this? The first word of verse two provides the answer. It identifies the “Yud-Hay-Vav-Hay”(YHVH) known as Yehovah, but He is also revealed as Yeshua. This same One, Yehovah(YHVH), in verse 10, will swallow them up and cause fire to eat them.
Who are God’s enemies, anyway? The Scriptures describe all of us as enemies of God, that is at one time. But some of us have believed on the Son to become reconciled to God. Romans 5:10 For if, while we were yet enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.
In many places, the Scriptures describes a similar fate for all those who remain in enmity toward God. Psalm 92:10 For behold, Your enemies, Adonai—behold Your enemies perish—all evildoers are scattered. In each of these next three verses, Yeshua describes His followers as friends. John 15:13 “No one has greater love than this: that he lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 I am no longer calling you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. Now I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
So, what will it be? Be a friend of God and spend eternity in the sweetness of His presence, or be an enemy of God and spend eternity in the bitterness of Hell fire resulting from slavery to sin? John 8:23 Yeshua said, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins. If you don’t believe that I am, you will die in your sins.”
Choose life everlasting through faith in the Son. John 5:24 “Amen, amen I tell you, whoever hears My word and trusts the One who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed over from death into life. Shalom shalom.
