(Early) Shabbat Shalom,

Psalms
Psalm 21:6(5),7(6) – Part 4

Psalm 21:6(5) His glory is great through Your salvation. Honor and majesty You bestow on him. 7(6) For You bestow on him eternal blessings, gladden him with joy in Your presence.

Everything that God does is great!  So naturally, great is His glory, “B’Yeshua’te’cha,” meaning “in your Salvation” (Do you see “Yeshua” in there?).”  What does it really mean to “glorify the Son?”  Let’s find our answer in Yeshua’s prayer.  Just before He was betrayed, what was on Yeshua’s mind?  (May I recommend reading the entire chapter.). John 17:1 Yeshua spoke these things; then, lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, so the Son may glorify You.”  Yeshua’s next words line up perfectly with the RR from yesterday.  John 17:2 “Even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, so may He give eternal life to all those You have given Him.”

The “glory” of God, which we are seeking to understand, can best be understood with one phrase… “God’s glory is His oneness.”  (Yes, we used the following verse a few days ago in a different context.)  Isaiah 42:8a “I am Adonai—that is My Name! My glory I will not give to another….”  Yeshua spoke this profound truth… John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.”  And it angered His listeners… John 10:31 Again the Judean leaders picked up stones to stone Him. … but that doesn’t mean He was wrong.

“Blessings for all eternity” to Yeshua and those who love Him.  John 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”  We must reflect His character (be His ambassador) in every situation of life.  What would Yeshua do (WWYD)?  This is easier said than done, but do it – we must.  The promised result is the gift of the Holy Spirit.  John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever.

A few verses later, Yeshua makes another statement that puts us in His family and His family in us.  John 14:20 “In that day, you will know that I am in My Father, you are in Me, and I am in you.”  This is “good news!”  Blessings, my friends.  Shalom shalom.
