Shalom,
The Upper Room Discourse (part 75 of ???)
John 17:14 I have given them Your word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world just as I am not of the world. 15 I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.
Here is Yeshua’s third thought in these two verses… John 17:14c … “Because they are not of the world just as I am not of the world.” Through faith in the Son of God, our Savior, we have been transformed. While being in the world (as we will see tomorrow), we are no longer “OF” the world.
This is the earnest (down payment) of our inheritance. It is the “first taste – appetizer” of what is to come… Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh (and final) angel trumpeted, and there were loud voices in heaven saying, “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Anointed One. And He shall reign forever and ever!”
When you make Yeshua the Lord of your life, He reigns in your heart. Therefore; His kingdom has come unto you. (Luke 17:21) Don’t miss this… There is a time coming when the whole world will be submitted to Him. Philippians 2:9 For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, in heaven and on the earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue profess that Yeshua the Messiah is Lord— to the glory of God the Father.
Since we are no longer “OF” this world, we should behave accordingly (act like it). There are so many Scriptures that prove this is true, all I will quote here are two of them.
1 John 2:16 For everything in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the boasting of life—is not from the Father but from the world.
Colossians 3:5 Therefore, put to death what is earthly in you—sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed—for that is idolatry.
Finally, let’s close today with this… Ephesians 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as dearly loved children;… 5 Know for certain that no immoral, indecent, or greedy person—who is really an idol worshipper at heart—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Messiah and God.

Week 47
Memory Verse: Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourselves—it is the gift of God. 9 It is not based on deeds, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship—created in Messiah Yeshua for good deeds, which God prepared beforehand so we might walk in them.
