Rabbi’s Reflections – Friday, November 1, 2024
(Early) Shabbat Shalom,

Psalms
Psalm 19:5(4) – Part 3

Psalm 19:5(4) Their voice has gone out to all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens He pitched a tent for the sun.

“Their voice?”  Whose voice?  We read all about it yesterday and the day before.  Psalm 19:2a(1b) The heavens declare the glory of God.  God is always speaking!  The question is not, “Is God speaking.”  Instead, the question is, “Are we listening?”  “Shema Yisrael…”  Hear O Yisrael.…  Then we are assured that God’s creation is always speaking everywhere.  Psalm 19:4  There is no speech, no words, where their voice goes unheard.  And, what is the shout of the voice of creation?  Psalm 19:2a (1b) The heavens declare the glory of God.

Rabbi Trail:  Street slang in Israel goes like this… “Ma Nishma?”  Literally, it means, “What will we hear?”  It is slang for, “Tell me how you’re doing.”  We come into agreement with all of creation when we also declare the glory of God.  Hebrews 13:15 Through Yeshua then, let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips giving thanks to His name.  And this… 1Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.  End RT.

We are without excuse… Romans 1:20 His (God’s) invisible attributes—His eternal power and His divine nature—have been clearly seen ever since the creation of the world, being understood through the things that have been made. So people are without excuse.  In His sacrificial death on the cross, Yeshua assured us of eternal life in His presence.  This is God’s preplanned destiny for our eternal salvation.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us. 9 How much more then, having now been set right by His blood, shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him. 10 For if, while we were yet enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.

And finally, we hold tight to this promise… Matthew 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the land will mourn, and they will see ‘the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven’ with power and great glory. 31 He will send out His angels with a great shofar, and they will gather together His chosen from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Revelation 1:7 “Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye shall see Him, even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth shall mourn because of Him. Yes, amen!”  Shalom shalom.
