Shalom,

The Equip – Day 20:  https://gatesofzion.net/blog-articles/jb-bernstein/the-equip-series-40-consecutive-days-of-equipping-in-jewish-evangelism/the-equip-series-day-20-the-glory-of-israel/37

Yesterday I wrote my comments about Psalm 22:2(1) My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?  Which Yeshua quoted as recorded in Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Yeshua cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You abandoned Me?”  The true Hebrew pronunciation is “Azavtani” (it starts with an Ayin), but I give the KJV credit for their attempt at Hebrew.

That same Shoresh is first used in Genesis 2:24 This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife; and they become one flesh.  This helps us keep perspective on Yeshua’s meaning.  There is no abandonment taking place, but a releasing for something greater.

Yeshua was loosed from the boundaries of this world into a greater glory.  John 16:7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away! For if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

Now, jump down with me to Psalm 22:23(22) I will declare Your Name to my brothers. I will praise You amid the congregation.  As we follow Yeshua, we take on His character.  We are called “ambassadors for the Messiah,”  2 Corinthians 5:20a We are therefore ambassadors for Messiah.  This is the purpose of “The Equip” video series.  Have you been watching them?  I’m thankful for this emphasis through Lou Engle and JB Bernstein.

Each of us should have our testimony ready.  1 Peter 3:15b Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.  A short testimony is sometimes referred to as “the elevator speech.”  Google it to get some examples.  Ask yourself, what if I had every seat in Neyland Stadium (all 102,455) filled to capacity and I had everyone’s attention for only 90 seconds.  What would I say to make the greatest impact?  Be ready to answer the question, “What happened to you?”

And you say, “Let me tell you what the Lord has done….”  Now you’ve got 90 seconds.  Ready, set, go!
