Rabbi’s Reflections – Monday, September 9, 2019
Shalom *|FNAME|*,
This vacation might turn into a mini-sabbatical. I’ll write more for the top part when I have something. Right now I don’t. But I’ll keep publishing the question of the day in the bottom part (based on the daily F-260 reading).
Week 37
Memory Verse: Acts 1:31 When they had prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken. And they were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
181 9/9 Monday: Mark 16
182 9/10 Tuesday: Luke 14
183 9/11 Wednesday: John 20-21
184 9/12 Thursday: Matthew 28
185 9/13 Friday: Acts 1
Question of the day: What verse of Mark 16 changed the world?
Answer: Is this one of those trick questions where the answer is “all of them?” No, I have one verse in mind. Wanna guess or do you give up? It’s really not that difficult. Let’s set it up.
Three ladies were on their way to properly prepare the body of Yeshua for burial when… Mark 16:5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were startled.
Now here is the verse that changed the world…
Mark 16:6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Yeshua of Natzeret, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here!
That’s the good news, “He’s alive!” The disciples wouldn’t believe it. Finally, Yeshua Himself had to rebuke them for their unbelief. Even to this day, we should also be encouraged that Yeshua is alive.
Want to know what’s better than that? He’s living in you. John 14:19 In a little while, the world will no longer behold Me, but you will behold Me. Because I live, you also will live! 20 “In that day, you will know that I am in My Father, you are in Me, and I am in you.
There is more… 2 Corinthians 13:4 For He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we shall live with Him by God’s power toward you. 5 Test yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Examine yourselves! Or don’t you know yourselves—that Messiah Yeshua is in you? Unless of course you failed the test. 6 But I hope that you will realize that we haven’t failed the test.
And finally… Galatians 2:19b I have been crucified with Messiah; 20a and it is no longer I who live, but Messiah lives in me.
