Rabbi’s Reflections – Friday, September 13, 2019
(Early) Shabbat Shalom *|FNAME|*,
Tom and Nancy Reinecke are faithful leaders of The Gathering of Nations in Knoxville. They are also faithful friends of Shomair Yisrael. I personally cannot be there on Friday night, but I’m passing along their invitation to you all to attend. I have attended their monthly gatherings in the past and find them up-lifting. If you can get to Knoxville Center Mall on Friday night, you will be blessed by the presence of the Lord. God loves it when His children are kind and edifying to each other.
The Gathering of Nations invites you to come & worship Yeshua HaMashiach this Friday evening (Sept 13) as we celebrate our 2nd Anniversary!
We are amazed at what God has done… bringing a total of 44 Nations to worship together over the past 2 years… unity!
Where: Knoxville Center Mall / 2nd level / across from Belk.
Gather: 6:30pm
Celebrate & Worship: 7-8:30pm
Parking: at the back of the mall, enter at the Regal Cinema and keep walking to the right; you can’t miss us!
Is HE worthy? Yes, HE IS, to receive all Honor and Glory and Praise!
Week 37
Memory Verse: Acts 1:31 When they had prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken. And they were all filled with the Ruach ha-Kodesh and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
181 9/9 Monday: Mark 16
182 9/10 Tuesday: Luke 14
183 9/11 Wednesday: John 20-21
184 9/12 Thursday: Matthew 28
* 185 9/13 Friday: Acts 1
Question of the day: The disciples get to ask the question of the day. The question is asked to Yeshua, so He gets to answer. Acts 1:6b “Lord, are You restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?”
Answer: Acts 1:7 He said to them, “It is not your place to know the times or seasons which the Father has placed under His own control.”
Notice (significantly) that Yeshua directs His answer to their question. They asked “at this time?” Yeshua answers concerning the timing. The issue itself, of restoring the kingdom to Israel is never in doubt or dispute. It will happen. 2,000 years ago the disciples asked, “When, is it now?”
What does that means, “restore the kingdom to Israel?” Yeshua had only days earlier been crucified under a sign (in 3 languages) “King of the Jews.” When Yeshua takes the scepter of David and is seated on His throne, the kingdom (that once belonged to David) is reestablished through David’s Son, Yeshua.
The Archangel Gabriel prophesied to the virgin Mary… Luke 1:31 Behold, you will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you shall call His name Yeshua. 32 He will be great and will be called Ben-Elyon. Adonai Elohim will give Him the throne of David, His father.
Of course, we know Yeshua will rule the entire world for a millennial (1,000 year) reign. But He will do that from His throne in Zion. All Israel will follow Him.
Jeremiah 32:38 They will be My people, and I will be their God. 39 I will give them one heart and one way, so they may fear Me forever; for their good and for their children after them. 40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never turn away from doing good for them. I will put My fear in their hearts, so that they will not depart from Me.
Soon and not yet. We have promises that are not yet fulfilled concerning Israel. Romans 11:26 and in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer shall come out of Zion. He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. 27 And this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”
The body of Messiah has a destiny. That destiny will not be reached without a lot of Jewish people being included. Shabbat shalom.
